Kannada and other Indian languages in Photoshop

Problem:

The problem on Indic languages are straightforward. We do not get the words right. You will understand if you have been bothered by this issue. The words come out like "ಕನನ್ ಡ" Instead of "ಕನ್ನಡ" I assume the issue is the same with other Indian languages too. I have seen blog posts and screenshots on forums.

Declaration:

I use Photoshop CC and google IME for language support. I have tried baraha, and nudi also. They did not help. I have been taking screenshots of needed kannada phrases from notepad and using colour range or one of those selection methods to extract the font as an image. Have installed a lot of fonts in hope to type in kannada freely, but all in vain.

What worked finally:

Finally after revisiting the problem that had bugged me for months, today i happened to try this and it worked.

Edit >> Preferences >> Type >> 'Choose Text Engine Options' >>

Select "Middle Eastern and South Asian"

>> OK

As the warning says "Changes will take effect the next time you create a document" The old documents do not accept this change. However Kannada is working for me flawlessly on new documents.

Note:

1. I haven't tested this for all the fonts or all versions of PS/Adobe, 'Akshar Unicode' and 'Noto sans' is working.
2. I've heard that professor B. M. Sreekantayya also a popular poet and novelist thought of fonts like "ಕನನ್ ಡ" when he had to design kannada fonts for typewritters back in the days.

pulp kandanthe ulidavaru fiction

When i first watched ulidavaru kandanthe, i do remember trying to tilt my head to left to read out the name in the chit that was shown to munna [alias pranayaraja] by balu [alias huli]. I managed to read the second word "wallace" it already felt like i was missing something there, but then i was in good company that day in the theater and did not bother much.

5 days later, a morning, when i was brushing something brought me a smile on my face all of a sudden. A prediction ! If only it could be "marsellus wallace". if only the first name i missed was "marsellus" how epic could that be to relate it to "pulp fiction" !! It seemed only like a formality to wait for a personal copy of the movie to confirm the name... there were other things that were dancing right in my face..
1. the style of narration every fan of 'quentin tarantino' chapterwise story telling.
2. the mystery 'macguffin' that drives both the movies.
3. the prevalent conspiracy theories around the suitcase in the 'pulp fiction'

This looks like a total fan-boy job Mr. Rakshith shetty. admire your work and sense of music.. all of your team. Really nice of you to give this special connection to pulp fiction fans. keep more stuff coming.

Doubt: I am not really sure, if 'raghu' steals and runs with it to Mr. Wallace or it is 'dinesh' that smuggles secretly.

I suspect: The yakshagana prasanga at shankar poojari's house in the background, the bhagavatha says something about madvacharya loosing some kind of vigraha on a ship. I am not sure if this was an intentional clue or i am just 'seeing things' :P could this be the origin of the artifact in U.K. and the suitcase in pulp fiction. ?

Declaration: really liked the portrayal of the Democracy and pranaya raja !

"what am i supposed to feel ?"

Everything feels so real, those lumps of relationships that are formed in the fabric of our lives. Those loops of thoughts that keep us thinking from end to end, they only look like perfectly perceivable logical problems, but they are paradoxes. Only run inside of our brains as a state vector of things, no, they only seem to be a kind of operator upon our basis. Emotions is the usual word.

Emotions appear so real. My confusions, my pain, joy, everything. The time until you are caught with them, the look like they are twisting your view of the world. But all it finally takes is a little diversion, a sudden change to shake it off of you. To make it look like a passing cloud, this is so beautiful. So, i imagine, the difference between different kinds of people is just their thoughts per second and in the direction they are wired to.

I feel so limited today. to express what i wish to. God darn, ashamed of the way the second paragraph is written. I will stop this post here... for now..

[might be continued..]

Abstract living and the courage

I yelled out today "Random/abstractness is the true nature of the universe, pattern is for the weaklings"

The rage felt good, i wish i could forget everything else, but the mind remained inquisitive about what i had just uttered. Was the statement correct in the domain of boldly jumping into the life not bothering if you get lemon or orange ? or did i mean pattern is just getting used to the randomness, was my mind deep enough to say that ?

your comments not welcome on this post :P sorry, just wrote this to get a clearer picture of things. good day.

Blissful yoga

Here is the formula for bliss in yoga, i say from my experience:

1. Clearly know what you are doing: this will reduce the amount of thought you put in designing next move or deciding the next asana. Creative/ inquisitive thoughts are good, but can very soon generate the feeling of doubt. If it helps write down the order of the asanas that you are going to do.

Before going to the next point: we must understand what we do when we meditate.

Your mind is nothing but a good monkey that is ready to listen, but in search of the right guru ! You cant' but reach your mind, for it is untouchable [infact the idea of reaching it will generate ideas about the duality of mind and self and further complicate]. We observe our breath, we let the body do what it wants and we just observes it as a pure observer. [at least that is the kind of meditation i do, and i talk of this because i believe that this might in general cover other methods; my apologies]
A posture that is least harmful to the body is chosen, for sitting for long hours. Then observing from the inside, from the minds' eye the changes to our body, it is like all the voluntary actions retiring to admire all the involuntary ones. breathing, the pumping heart that asks for no gratitude, pulsating body with the flow of blood. You go on to observe, nothing great happens, things are very distinctively elegant. You eventually feel them all syncing, beautifully,
you can observe how many times the heart pounds before you take another breath.
you can observe how slowly that number is falling.
you can observe how slowly your thoughts per second are reducing
you can observer not observing anything atall, unlike a protocol, you find yourself just being aware.
the meaning of the word observer now starts to differ from the word aware. You start to realize that being aware is not an action but an effort less state [those who have followed newton, try and relate awareness to an inertial state, meaning a body can be in that state without requiring any external effort.]
Soon your mind starts to calm, collect and settle down. Soon you realize that your monkey has actually learn to something. Learnt something, out of nothing, out of not doing anything, out of not seeking to learn.
You have essentially connected your body to your mind. the streamlined body has only done its job like it is meant to. but the kind of mimicking mind that we have has set that UN-bothered flow of the body into the mind. [those who follow electromagnetic induction, realize that this is like an electric current, without even touching, just by its decent flowing, has induced a magnetic field in the receiving body] Peace has been attained.
Meditation is mind receiving lessons from the body, unlike the usual control of the body by mind.

2. Place your mind in your breath and feel your body: Almost all the asanas designed from the first masters have stages/postures that we need to go through. We inhale and exhale alternatively while performing these postures. If meditation just observers the natural rhythm of the body, sewing yoga with assigned breathing will try to train that rhythm of the body itself. Yoga practices us to take breath at right places of physical movement. Yoga rightly structures the co ordination of body movement and breathing, and this is all is stamina about !
The second point is to be clearly aware about your inhalation and exhalation, it is best to feel your body move. Identify and avoid if you are doing any inhalation or exhalation longer than others.

3. Do not force yourself: there might have been situations where you were encouraged to use all the grit you can gather, say, athletics, a fight or something.. but do not push yourself is the mantra. Your flexibility will increase naturally. but gradually. Try to keep each of your movement like a poetry. Streamlined, do not worry about weight issues, you do not have to wreak your nerves or sweat to the floor. Yoga is not for mediocre benefits like that, but one can be assured that all the wordly goals are attainable once the mind seasons with atleast 2 months of yoga.

4. most important: Do the asanas with proper breathing.. It is best to learn to from a teacher.

General Instructions: It is advised to have a regular place of meditation daily. A private setup with good amount of air and natural light might be best.

Good luck, stay blissful.

A Riddle from Santha shishunaala shareefa

A Poet philosopher who lived, enjoyed his life and left repercussions in the minds around him hundreds or years ago, to this day most of us are huge fans; receiving the waves he created then !
santha shishunaala sharifh saheba; was an icon of religious integrity, icon of "tathava pada" His songs do not just take birth from the surface of his brain, they originate as a result of his affair with the eternal bliss. Seeing the other side of the river yet being so connected with the people around him, sharifajja motivates for a lot many things.
He talks about thamburi, music instuments, he sings about the very usual, unrewarded daily chores that we all undertake and points out an entirely a new dimension. Every time i come back to his cave and listen to his songs i discover a new meaning; a version 2.0 for every revisit ! but the song that i am going to share with you all now, is the one that i am not able to crack atall. for years now, this song has kindled me right in the face. now i seek your help in decoding this song.

Below this; i have attempted to write down the lyrics, try and solve this riddle.

 ತೈಲವಿಲ್ಲದ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ, ತೈಲವಿಲ್ಲದ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಬೆಲಕುಮದೇನದಿ;

 ತಾಗುತಿನೋಳಗೊಂದು ತಗದಿನ್ ಹಸ್ತವಕಂಡು;
