Photosynth

Much introduction to photosynth is not needed, its the dawn of 3D photoraphy and will soon be popularized by social networking sites. With the microsoft to its back, though slow it will be implemented to its fullest. For now, enjoy this photosynth of Mysore palace in ways you want and keep a look for my own upcoming synths... :D

Ode to Brain

Welcome to the poetry of modern day.. :) symphony of science series is a project of John D Boswell. Wonderfully edited 14 such videos are around the globe released. It feels great to listen to the classics of science lectures so well blended with melody. find them here, on the official Symphony of science website or on their youtube channel melodysheep. I like it when Taylor says "information in the form of energy... streams in ! in the form of energy, simultaneously" :)
(Carl Sagan's lyrics written by Carl Sagan, Ann Druyan and Steven Soter)

[Robert Winston] It's amazing to consider that I'm holding in my hands The place where someone once felt, thought, and loved For centuries, scientists have been battling to understand What this unappealing object is all about

[Vilayanur Ramachandran] Here is this mass of jelly You can hold in the palm of your hands And it can contemplate the vastness of interstellar space

[Carl Sagan] The brain has evolved from the inside out It's structure reflects all the stages through which it has passed

[Jill Bolte Taylor] Information in the form of energy Streams in simultaneously Through all of our sensory systems And then it explodes into this enormous collage Of what this present moment looks like What it feels like And what it sounds like And then it explodes into this enormous collage And in this moment we are perfect We are whole and we are beautiful

[Robert Winston] It appears rather gruesome Wrinkled like a walnut, and with the consistency of mushroom

[Carl Sagan] What we know is encoded in cells called neurons And there are something like a hundred trillion neural connections This intricate and marvelous network of neurons has been called An enchanted loom The neurons store sounds too, and snatches of music Whole orchestras play inside our heads 20 million volumes worth of information Is inside the heads of every one of us The brain is a very big place In a very small space No longer at the mercy of the reptile brain We can change ourselves Think of the possibilities

[Bill Nye] Think of your brain as a newspaper Think of all the information it can store But it doesn't take up too much room Because it's folded

[Oliver sacks] We see with the eyes But we see with the brain as well And seeing with the brain Is often called imagination

 [Various]
[Robert Winston] It is the most mysterious part of the human body And yet it dominates the way we live our adult lives It is the brain

The Stroke of Insight

Think of all those people who have extra ordinary experiences in life, wonder how many of them are well informed as what they are undergoing. Think how many of them survive the bliss and can comprehend it. How many such fortunate beings have you heard of ?? Jill bolte taylor is one name that i can't ever forget !! I don wanna talk much.. How many neuro-biologists get an opportunity to study themselves inside out. This i think brings spirituality close to science. The angels, gods and demons and unique out of body experiences now make perfect sense medically. They are just bundle of information processed at that moment. just a hallucination for others, but UNIVERSAL TRUTH for the person.

General Relativity and the Einstein equations

I just feel i got promoted from inertial from to accelerated frame.. My research on special relativity have made way to the realm of general relativity. I now feel that, my answers to some unsolved questions of special relativity lie in general relativity and electromagnetism. As soon as i realised this, i was in search for a perfect mathematical fundamental book about general relativity. Popular science books have stopped being sweet for me, they no longer kindle my passion they now frustrate me! yeah they do.. you know what i am talking about if you what i am talking about !! That is when i found this book, i had my hand always layed on a book of James B. Hartle known as "Gravity: An Introduction to General relativity". but some how ended up with this book. Gonna start reading this very moment. Well, the prize on Amazon, Flipkart, Rediff, what-not.. were never less than 6 Thousand Indian Rupees. well that was upsetting. but thanks to EBOOKEE as usual ! here you find the link  DOWNLOAD [click on the capitalized download] to a free ebook. If you are flexible to read it from a softcopy like me, you will appreciate the benefits of internet ;)

Little Buddha

This is yet another awesome movie that i always relish... such complete delivery of the substance blended with the melody. -- I never expected to see Keanu Reeves in the role of Gautama Buddha. Little Buddha was release in 1993.

The Life of Buddha

What do i say.. i just stare at the statue of buddha on my desk thinking what can i possibly say about the enlightened one ! He is that guy who showed the world much more evolved form of existence. Avatar's of Vishnu that is believed to have come time-to-time updated the way we understood religion and restored its true spirit, though changing the mere methods. Siddhartha Gautama Buddha is the one who could comprehend the way the nature works and become the nature itself. He did not meditate on any god. he did not follow any meditation technique that would require a seeker to make initial assumptions, Blindly. He reached nirvana just in search of answers.. He chose to be known as a teacher than a god and his teachings a route to enlightenment rather than religion. Gautama buddha was not a miracle, he was answers. He did not make the impossible happen and gathered people who are looking for material benefits. His life was a simple. I thank heenayaana clan of buddhists for not following what buddha preached and indulging in idol worship, i am thankful for the history they have carried about Gautama. --A BBC made documentary.

2.. spooky for 2D.

All those optical illusions that make a 2D picture look like a cool intelligent video....
I believe no picture is a picture, our mind creates a small video of length (+/-) 'dt' amount of time. This is why a picture of a smile or a cry means a lot to us. But just for once, try to think that the person posing in that picture has deformed his face into a certain fashion. [laugh/cry] ignore the fact that you know what those emotions are. It starts to feel so stupid about the charming model.
In these kind of pictures, the movement in eyeball is the key. one may observe that the spooky action increases when we hover our eyes over the picture. We will be tricked to think that the movie has moved somemore frames. With my little practice of meditation, given some time I am able stop this thing. try raising your face towards ceiling and see the picture through your barely open eyes the motion appears to come rest. this is simply because that the eye movement will be very minimum there.

Samurai chops a bullets with his Katana !!

This is so awesome.. !! Stan Lee's Superhumans Originally aired on The History Channel comes up with the real-life Samurai from Osaka, Japan. ISAO MACHII. This master of martial arts, chops a pellet from a BB Gun, that flies to him. A BB Gun has an average speed of 457.2 kmph of speed. The size of the pellet used here is 4.5 mm in diameter. The shooter stands at 100m far from The Samurai, this virtually gives the master 0.78 second for the reaction. It should be noted that a normal human rection time is 0.3 second.
Now, lets do the math !!
In the hand of an expert shooter and trivial recoil like that of a simple BB Gun, we can easily expect an inch at 100m length [this is an angular measure]. Here, in the first case.. there is no specific target that is placed and agreed to aim at. So, with all this data i will assume that the area where the bullet could be expected is inside an area of the circle of diameter 3 ft. [ = 0.6567 square meter ]. diameter of a BB Gun pellet is 4.5 mm. This makes the placement of the bullet in its real place a one in 41301.8868 shot [simply calculated the probalility, just kept it simple for many conditions] at the least !
Average width of a traditonal soul-ful katana is 0.7112 cm. The way the ISAO MACHII draws from the sword cover everytime makes is ever harder to accurately draw it to a particular point in space. OK, i don wanna pose more. I don even know what is the probability of getting this right ! It could be one in say 10s.
This multiplied with the above 41 thousand number will make it a ONE IN A MILLION SHOT.  Now enjoy the video.

Stan Lee's [who needs no much introduction] SuperHumans is a very interesting programme there are a lot of videos that are gonna shortly make it to my collection. keep watching.
Thanks to Daniel Browning Smith who himself is pretty awesome :)

I just wonder, how many more such giant talents yet stay hidden considering most martial knowledge is kept and practiced in secret. Hats off to those who have pushed the human limits and been a source of inspiration to millions like me.

The extent of our known universe..

Here, i found a very nice simulated universe correct to scales.. and the team has taken care to correctly put the orbits of the artificial sattelites.

Another interesting point is, we must note how far in scale is our farthest sent radio signals, one more point against all those extra terrestrial enthusiasts. Its a wonder how less we know in the vast stretch of [ c*13.6 billion years ].

king sidhartha

Give this a thought... if Shuddhodana [father of prince siddhartha who later became the great lord buddha] had presented joy and sorrow of the world equally to siddhartha. He might not have left his house in search of his answers. however, he still had great lengths to travel deep into himself but he would have stayed a king.
nothing much have changed for him.. but we would have had an 'enlightened king'

i was searching for this from long....

I first heard this chanting as a playback for an "aghori video" it was pretty popular in those days. time was when i used to carry this in my phone and used to get inspired by the powerful beats and chanting. i get inspired by any achiever/sadhakas. well, after that i wanned to have this mp3 on my phone from long. found it finally. amidst all those self tagged "awesome,  best, exclusive, latest, original, superb, watnot" videos on youtube.

i see red indian pictures in this video, i don know how that relates.

all are going commercial and global...

i heard about some NGO and their working pattern today. felt bad, manipulation and making money is the motto. well they do serve, but the share to what they squander is very ugly, mafia is the word that could be used.

1. the solution to this ?? make sure the money you donate to reach till the end benificiary.
2.even better solution ?? service ! donate time along/instead of money. that is best.
3.don't have much time, but still want to do your little part ?? you don't have to reach your hands too far, start from around you ! people, places and things around you also need attention.

going global and commercial is good but it is a kind of bio-magnification too. small errors multiply to makeup for a blunder. NGOs are also needed to cover many international issues. just think and be discrete, you guys are good at that :D
